KATHMANDU, March 20: NC President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that there is no option to move forward by imbibing the culture of alliance in the country.

He argued that since no single party has a majority in the House of Representatives, they have to imbibe the traditions of the alliance and move forward.

Participating in the discussion on the motion of vote of confidence presented by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, Deuba clarified that political alliances should not be self-centered, motivated by selfishness and for momentary gains but should be focused on the country, the people and stability, development and peace of the country while protecting the constitution.

Deuba said that his party had already given a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal to advance the work of development and prosperity in the country while strengthening the federal democratic republic.

He said, “In this system, no one party can get a majority in the House of Representatives, so the culture of alliance has to be assimilated. That's why we have to carry on the culture of alliance that we have raised. Political alliances should not be self-centered, self-interest driven, or for momentary gains. In favor of the country and the people, it is necessary to focus on the alliance to protect the constitution, and have stability, peace and development in the country. I mentioned the main agenda of the country when the honorable prime minister presented a proposal for support in accordance with Article 76 of the Constitution on 26th January 2079.” Deuba drew the attention of parliament to the fact that strengthening the federal democratic governance system, protecting the constitution and meaningful implementation of political stability and development in the country is a basic necessity.
