KATHMANDU, April 27: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged the party’s leaders and cadres to withdraw their independent candidacies by respecting the party’s decision in the local level elections slated for May 13.
Speaking at a program organized by the party’s District Liaison Coordinating Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Thapa said that the party would discuss the shortcomings of the alliance after the election. He reiterated that filing rebel candidacy would not be in the interest of the hardworking leaders of the party.
Thapa said that there was no alternative but to go ahead with the election as per the party's decision.
He also said that he had different views on the electoral alliance but that he had moved ahead by accepting and implementing the party's decision.
