‘The Man From Kathmandu’ premiered

Thursday’s eve saw the grand premiere of ‘The Man from Kathmandu’ at Labim Mall. A throng of national and international film enthusiasts gathered to mark the premiere show of the much-awaited film. Along with the film crew, the event called for a huge presence of celebrated actors from Nepali film fraternity.

The film is the first-of-its-kind Nepali production that has a blend of romance and action. Based on a true event, the film further unravels the journey of an American Nepali who is in a quest to find the answers to his questions that eventually lands him to Kathmandu.

“The film is different in the sense that it is the first time Nepali cinema has tried to make a film for international audience and the film is a perfect amalgamation of action, drama and romance. Though the movie was mostly shot in Kathmandu, the tone of the film is Hollywood,” said Dhondup.

 “I hope people will like it because we have made with a lot of passion and love,” he added.

“This film is a stepping stone for Kollywood because it is taking our efforts from national to international level and I really appreciate the efforts made by the entire team,” expressed Neer Shah.

Pema Dhondup’s directorial film features Anna Sharma, Karma Shakya, Neer Shah, Mithila Sharma, Shishir Bangdel, Amir Gautam, Paramita Rana along with Puerto Rican actor Jose Manuel, Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover, Pakistani actor Hameed Sheikh.

The film has released all over Nepal from Friday, March 15.
