
Thapa, who was joint third after the second round, moved on top with a total score of four-over 220, which is one-stroke ahead of Pashupati Sharma and Shiva Ram Shrestha, going into the final round. Sharma returned a card of even-par 72 on Wednesday, while Shrestha shot one-under 71 to share the second position at 221s. [break]
The 2007 Surya Nepal Masters champion Deepak Thapa Magar produced the best card of the event so far at six-under 66 to leapfrog to fourth with a score of six-over 222. Surya Sharma was fifth at 225, while current No 1 Rabi Khadka was sixth with a score of 227.
Deepak Acharya and Krishna Man Rajbahak shared the seventh position at 228s. Deepak Neupane (230) and the leader of the first two rounds Sachin Bhattarai, who played a horrible round of 12-over 84 on the third day for a total of 231, rounded up the top 10.
In the Amateur section, Ramesh Adhikari extended his lead to 16 strokes after a third round score of even par 72 for a total of 229. Samundra Giri is second at 245.

The second event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour -- sponsored by Ghana Shyam Thapa, the first professional golfer of Nepal - will end on Thursday. The top three pros will receive Rs 60,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
