BAGLUNG, Aug 8: Communications to more than a dozen villages have been severed after 10 Nepal Telecom's BTS towers shutdown owing to lack of power in western parts of the district.

All the services provided by Nepal Telecom were affected following the closure of the towers. Power supply to the towers was disrupted after more than 20 hydro power projects suffered damages in monsoon triggered flash floods.

The consumers say the landline phone service, pre-paid, post-paid and sky services have remained out of function.

Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Baglung said efforts were underway to resume operation of the towers.

Necessary equipment is being sent to immediately bring the towers in at least five places back into operation, said Engineer Amrit Nepal. RSS
