The tragic accident occurred on National Road No. 4 when a speedy Highlander overtook a car and crashed into a tourist mini-bus and then continued to hit another cargo truck before bursting into flames, said Tab Lon, deputy police chief of Kampong Speu province.

"Ten people, five in the Highlander and five others in the tourist van, were confirmed dead in the crash, as four others got injured," Xinhua News Agency quoted the official as saying. He said the dead persons' identities were unknown yet as some bodies were badly burned. Death toll from road traffic accidents remains high in Cambodia. In 2018, a total of 1,761 people were killed and 4,771 others injured in road crashes across the country, Xinhua cited a government report.
