Telephone service resumes after two weeks in Jajarkot

The telephone service was obstructed after lightning on September 9 damaged a Nepal Telecom tower at Ratankot of Barekot rural municipality-5.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Telephone service, which was obstructed for the past two weeks at Barekot in Jajarkot district, has resumed after repair and maintenance.



The telephone service was obstructed after lightning on September 9 damaged a Nepal Telecom tower at Ratankot of Barekot rural municipality-5.

More than 10,000 telecom service users faced difficulties, including exchanging family messages and performing daily activities due to the disruption of the telephone service.


A local, Prakash Man Singh, said the telephone service obstructed for the past two weeks, has come into operation, and locals are happy with the resumption of telephone service. 


Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, had directed to resume the telephone service at the earliest. 


Similarly, the locals also urged the Ministry to expand the internet service, saying the population of internet users has reached 22,000 in the municipality. Earlier, it was 12,000 while establishing a 4G tower for the telecom.
