RAUTAHAT, Nov 12: An 18-year-old girl was shot dead in Rautahat on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Amrita Kumari Shah from Madhavnarayan Municipality-7. She was shot dead by unknown armed assailants on Wednesday night at around 11 pm, according to the District Police Office, Rautahat. 

The bullet had hit her temple, according to police. Although DPO, Rautahat has already initiated further investigation into the case, it is yet to get any clue about the assailants yet.

It is learnt that the girl was in love affair despite her marriage with a local boy. She was married to Rupesh almost a year ago.

Earlier in April, Rupesh was also stabbed by an unknown group. Amrita and Rupesh had divorced earlier in June. Amrita had been staying at her maternal home since then.
