KATHMANDU, April 4: Taxi drivers operating in the Tribhuvan International Airport area have halted their services today protesting against the parking fee.

They have expressed their dissatisfaction with the increase in the parking fee from Rs. 20 per hour to Rs 80 and the threat of further increase to Rs 100. Earlier, they had staged a protest in front of the airport gate.

Meanwhile, taxis continue to operate smoothly in other areas.

The airport land is leased by a company called IMS Airport Services. Owners of other vehicles parking there have also been complaining of having to pay expensive parking fee.
