Tara Air conducts test-flight at Rumjatar

KATHMANDU, June 23: Tara Air successfully conducted test-flight at Rumjatar airstrip on Sunday. Captain Pemba Sherpa conducted the test-flight, according to a Tara Air statement. The aircraft took off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 10:30 am and successfully landed at the newly renovated Rumjatar airport.



The airport had remained closed for 18 years for construction works. "The report of the test-flight will now be forwarded to CAAN," the statement said. Tara Air plans to start scheduled flights to Rumjatar once its get green signal from the aviation regulator. "To begin with, we will fly once a week on Kathmandu-Rumjatar route," Santa Prajapati, who loos after the operations at Tarai Air, said in the statement.
