Tamang's last rites to be held in Nepal

ILAM, May 22: Relatives of late Madan Tamang have informed his last rites will be performed in Jogmai VDC-3 of Ilam.



Tamang (64), who was the president of the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL), was fatally stabbed while he was about to address a public meeting in Darjeeling on Friday.



Tamang was born in Jogbani VDC-3, Khalikhop.



According to Jeet Bahadur Khadka, Late Tamang´s relative, his last rites would be held as per the Lama tradition.



Tamang was stabbed with sharp weapons. He had died while being rushed to hospital.



According local journalist Bimal Rai, Tamang´s dead body will be kept at his personal residence at Boksijho till Monday, where relatives and well wishers will pay Tamang their last tributes.



Meanwhile, police said they have stepped up their search for those involved in Tamang´s murder.
