WALING, Oct 23: An international paragliding tournament is to be kicked off in Syangja from coming November 1.
The tournament will be held at the Swarek Ground based in Bhirkot Municipality-5.
Some 300 athletes from 25 countries including Nepal, America, UK, China, India, Spain, Switzerland, Bangladesh, among others are taking part in the six-day tournament to be organized by Babu Adventure Club.
As stated by club chair Krishnajung KC, the Swarek Ground has been identified as one of the best places for paragliding and a paragliding school is also here. The objective of the event is to promote its potentiality of being developed as a paragliding hub.
It is estimated that Rs 8.5 million will be required to hold the event.
Through the same competition, four female and eight male athletes will be chosen for competing in the Asian Air Sports to be held in Indonesia in 2018. RSS
