POKHARA, Sept 20: An entire settlement at Dobilla locality of Pokhara – 17 is faced with a heightened risk of flooding and landslide after a local engorged Fusre river breached its confines.

Around 15 houses and a concrete bridge came under risk following torrential rainfall for the last few days caused the river to swell.

"The Fusre river has cut off the land on its eastern section triggering a landslide," a local resident, Kamal Giri said, adding "The locals are forced to stay awake all night due to fear of a landslide while a pavilion located at the bank of the river has developed cracks and many houses have suffered damages to their structures."

A portion of the eastern section of a concrete bridge connecting Pokhara – 17 to 23 has given way prompting the locals to ban transporters, Giri said.

Giri warned that if the government cannot take action on time a church, Sahara Academy and Osho Tapodham located between Fusre and Seti rivers will be at risk. RSS
