KATHMANDU, June 15: Swiss Ambassador to Nepal Elisabeth von Capeller met with acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ishwar Pokhrel at Ministry of Defence, Singhadurbar on Friday.
During the meeting, both countries discussed wide-ranging issues of bilateral relationship, economic and social development and military co-operation between Nepal and Switzerland.

On the occasion, Minister Pokhrel sought assistance from Switzerland to institutionalize the federalism in Nepal as the country is in the process of building strong legal and administrative structures for the same.
Minister Pokhrel expressed appreciation for Switzerland’s support to Nepal in the field of agriculture, infrastructure, education and migrated people.
While recalling the military support provided by Switzerland in the past, the minister stressed the need to further expand defense cooperation between the two countries.
The minister said that the two countries should further deepen their six-decade-long cooperation while expressing hope that Switzerland will support the government's ongoing efforts to achieve prosperity through economic development.
