KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Surya Nepal Central Open, the fourth event under Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2016-17, will tee off on Monday at Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu. The four-day event to be played over 72 holes will conclude on February 23.

Cut will be applied after completion of half of the play. Only top 21 pros and ties will secure place for the final 36 holes along with top six amateurs.
Altogether 33 professional golfers will vie in the event carrying total cash prize of Rs 600,000. The top three finishers of the tournament will bag purse of Rs 110,000, Rs 70,000 and Rs 45,000.
The event will also see participation of 15 amateurs. Nepal number one pro Shivaram Shrestha, Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Dhana Thapa, Sanjay Lama, Rabi Khadka will be strong contenders for the title. Similarly, national team amateurs Sukra Bahadur Rai, Tanka Bahadur Karki, Tenzing Tshiring, Shiva Kumar Majhi and veteran Tashi Ghale will be vying for the amateur trophy.
Shivaram has claimed titles of all three tours of the current season so far.
