KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Supreme Court has asked the government to furnish a written clarification about its decision to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR).
The apex court issued a show-cause notice to this effect after conducting a preliminary hearing at the constitutional bench on various 12 writ petitions filed against the government’s decision to dissolve the lower house of the parliament.

The apex court has sought written clarification from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister and Office of the President as they are made defendants in all the writ petitions.
The apex court has also asked the government to furnish an original copy of the recommendations made by the government to dissolve the HoR and the decision made by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to authenticate the government’s recommendations.
Earlier, the apex court had demanded amicus curiae from Nepal Bar Association and Supreme Court Bar Association.
