BIRATNAGAR, July 31: The bodies of two youths killed in police firing during a dispute between two groups in Dewanganj, Sunsari, were handed over to their families on Friday following postmortem examinations.
Om Prakash Mehta was killed on Sunday when police opened fire during a clash between two groups in Devaniganj. Jay Prakash Mehta, who was injured in the incident, died while undergoing treatment on Thursday.

The bodies were handed over to the families after the government and the victims’ families reached a seven-point agreement on Friday morning. The agreement includes providing relief to the bereaved families, declaring the deceased martyrs, conducting an impartial investigation into the incident and taking action against those found responsible.
The bodies, which had been kept at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, were taken to Koshi Hospital for postmortem examinations. The families received the bodies after the procedures were completed.
The bodies were then taken to Kaptanganj, their home village, in a funeral procession. The funerals are scheduled to be held on Friday.
