KATHMANDU, June 8: Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta is taking a vote of confidence at the provincial assembly meeting today.
A letter written by Chief Minister Bhatta to the Speaker to arrange a vote of confidence was registered at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Sunday evening. Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat Ram Singh Dhami said that a meeting of the Provincial Assembly has been convened at 9 AM on Tuesday for the purpose of taking a vote of confidence for the Chief Minister.
After the Supreme Court's decision revived the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) Party, the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government was transformed into a coalition government of the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Center). Due to the support of the Nepal-Khanal faction, the Maoist-led government headed by Chief Minister Bhatt, which has only 13 members of Parliaments, has survived so far.
