KATHMANDU, July 11: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-affiliated Rashtriya Prajatantrik Vidyarthi Sangathan (RPVS) has demanded the government ensure free education up to Grade 12 and provide textbooks to the students without any further delay.

In attempts to propel reforms in the education sector, a delegation from the RPVS led by its chairperson Dhansur Shahi has submitted an 11-point demand to Education Minister Devendra Poudel. In the memorandum given to the education minister on Monday, it has been appealed that contents that were against the Sanatan Dharma should be immediately removed from the curriculum.

“It is a matter of concern that the students have not been able to access textbooks even after three months of their enrollment. This is a culmination of the government’s irresponsibility. In this context, we have drawn the attention of the government toward the overall improvement and development of the education sector,” said Antisangharsh Rai, General Secretary of RPVS.

RPP, which submitted a 22-point memorandum addressing political and contemporary issues as well as issues relating to the people’s livelihood to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on June 15, has been conducting pressure-creating programs since June 27 to address its demands
