KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Leaders of student unions affiliated to various political parties have stressed that major political parties should be responsible and move ahead to pass the impeachment motion registered at the Legislature-Parliament against suspended Chief Commissioner at the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki.
At a program organized by the Joint Student Union here Sunday, the leaders suggested the parties to pass the impeachment motion immediately to maintain rule of law in the country.
Chairperson of All Nepal National Free Students Union Nabina Lama expressed worry over Karki's activities against judiciary and added that no one has right to carry out such activities.
Similarly, Nepal Students Union General Secretary Kundan Kafle stressed the need of maintaining rule of law by keeping intact the judicial supremacy.
Chairperson of the of the Revolutionary Centre, Narendra Neupane, and Chairperson of a student union close to Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), Kapaleshwor Yadav urged the party leaderships to finalise the impeachment motion as per the rule.
Likewise, ANNFSU Secretary RC Lamichhane said that the organisation would launch pressure-oriented program to institutionalize democracy by adhering to the rule of law in the country. RSS
