KATHMANDU, Sept 21: American electro house musician, record producer, DJ, and music executive Steve Aoki performed live at Club Déjà vu, Durbar Marg on Tuesday night. He is one of the highest grossing dance music artists in North America.
‘Carlsberg presents Steve Aoki Live in Nepal’ was organized by KTMLIVE Entertainment along with Team 61LIVE from Hong Kong and in association with Republica.
Grammy Award nominee Steve had performed in Nepal for the first time. He made his presence felt right after he entered the club at around 12:30 am. The audience gathered around Steve, burst into cheers, chanted his name and whipped their phones out to click photos with him.

Before Steve’s arrival, different well-known Nepali DJs like Finzok, Karyon, Norchen, Phuchhey, Punit, Redmus, Rabbit and Suren kept the audience jumping to their beats.
Steve’s entrance to the stage was beautified with brilliant pyrotechnics as he got himself up from behind the mixer. His name resonated all around the club. The excitement of a month-long wait for the concert could be seen in the crowd.
Right after Steve started to mix the music, the crowd went wild with cheers. He played the songs which were collaborated with famous artists such as will.i.am, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Iggy Azalea, Lil Jon, Laidback Luke, Louis Tomlinson, and Fall Out Boy.
The crowd had their hands and feet up in the air throughout the show. You could also see some people waiving Nepal’s flag toward Steve, who blew open bottles of champagnes toward the crowd. Two ladies in the audience also got the opportunity to share the stage with him.
When the party heated up with the crowd’s incessant excitement, Steve took off his shirt for the rest of the gig and even waived Nepal’s flag during his performance.
“It’s great to be in Nepal for the first time,” Steve said as he waived Nepal’s flag.
Nepali fans also got the opportunity to witness Steve’s trademark cake throwing among the audience. About eight cakes were thrown from the stage to fans on the dance floor. Covered in cake, the fans were asking for more.
Steve’s Aoki’s performance lasted for two hours. “So grateful to be out here and have all these amazing fans in Nepal!” he tweeted after the event.
