KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The Federal Alliance has vehemently stated that the constitution amendment proposal registered in the Legislature-Parliament could not be accepted in status quo.
A meeting of the Alliance held on Wednesday decided that the Alliance would accept the amendment bill only if it was brought with revision, said Alliance Coordinator and Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav.
The Alliance has called for revision in the constitution and accused the government of not carrying out any homework for the same.
The meeting also concluded that the Supreme Court ruling regarding the constitution was appropriate and there was no meaning of holding elections without moving ahead with the amendment.
FA leaders including President of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party Mahantha Thakur, Forum Nepal Co-chair Rajendra Shrestha, Sadbhawana Party General Secretary Manish Suman, Kumar Lingden of Federal Limbuwan Party Nepal and Bhanuram Tharu of Tharuhat Tarai Party were present in the meeting.
