We have suffered a lot. We did not have anything in the name of assets. We were compelled to leave our village and had to limit ourselves to a small room. Finally, with a lot of struggle and hardship, we have constructed a small house for shelter.

We are originally from Pakal VDC-2 of Okhaldhunga. We had an oil mill which was the only means of income source to survive. But everything was destroyed and we were left with nothing to run livelihood.

My younger brother Ujjan Shrestha was killed on June 24, 1998 whereas elder brother Ganesh Kumar Shrestha was murdered on November 22, 2002. Following the consequences, his daughter Rachana Shrestha died on June 8, 2005 as she could not bear continuous tragedy in the family. Our family was scattered. But also we continued our struggle against injustice.

We had to take care of octogenarian parents as well as the children, which was not easy job at all. My youngest brother Anjan Shrestha is a sole breadwinner in the family.

We are still getting threats from Maoist. Balkrishna Dhungel even had threatened justices Sushila Karki and Kalyan Shrestha through his speech.

It feels that we have got justice. The state must not let criminals go escort free. I wish nobody undergo hardship to get justice as we had gone!!!

(Based on the conversation of Sabitri Shrestha, sister of Ujjan Shrestha with Shree Ram Poudel following arrest of Bal Krishna Dhungel)
