KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Minister of State for Internal Affairs and Communications of Province 2, Rubi Kumari Karna met with an accident at Bishnupur village of Saptari district on Wednesday evening. According to Minister Karna, the accident took place when the car (Ja 1 Jha 406) she was traveling in lost its control on the road at Bishnupur-7 Nahar Chowk.

Karna said the vehicle overturned and reached the field nearby while trying to take a turn on the narrow road. Her personal secretary Dhruv Kumar Mandal, security guard Constable Tulasi Prasad Shah, driver Bikesh Chaudhary, local CPN (Maoist Center) leader Jay Prakash Chaudhary and Pratham Lal Ram were in the vehicle along with Karna.

Everyone in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were treated at Chhinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj. According to Dr Gyanendra Jha, everyone’s condition is normal and they were sent to their homes for rest.

Secretary Mandal said that the accident took place when the team of Minister of State was returning after offering condolences to the family and receiving information about the murder of 89-year-old Mukti Lal Mandal of Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality-6, Khudibakhari.

Mandal's body was found on November 24 at Jhaukharahi Phulbari in Khudibakhari of Chhinnamasta road section, in the state in which his neck was found to be cut with a sharp weapon.

The team of the Minister of State was on the way to visit the family of Bhuti Devi Yadav at Chhinnamasta-1 Barhi Birpur from the Mandal's house. Yadav was killed on December 27, 2021. The reason as well as perpetrators of both murders are still unknown.
