Standard Chartered donates Rs 3.7 million to Maiti Nepal

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd has donated Rs 3.7 million to Maiti Nepal. Issuing a press statement, the commercial bank said that it made the donation under its sustainability initiative named 'Futuremakers by Standard Chartered' to support Maiti Nepal's project to produce low cost sanitary napkins.

“On the occasion, 20 laptops were also handed over to facilitate education of young girls and children of Maiti Nepal,” the bank added in the statement. Standard Chartered donated two units of sanitary pad producing machines to start this project of Maiti Nepal earlier this month.
