KATHMANDU, Nov 7: After two auditions, different competitions and rigorous trainings, the three-month-long journey of Republica My City Presents En Vogue Fashion Show and modeling contest searching for the next face of House of Fashion (HoF) Nepal is finally concluding with a glittery, glamorous, grand finale on Wednesday.




The finale is all set to be held at the Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg, where 28 males and 39 females are competing to be the next face of HoF on Wednesday. The contestants are putting their best effort day and night into making this grand finale, being organized by HoF, a success.


MODELS AND THEIR PREPS

All 67 aspiring models have been rigorously working on themselves for there to four hours on a daily basis. Their journey began on August where they auditioned for a spot in the event. The short-listed candidates have been training with HoF focusing on their walk, postures, expression, confidence and presentation, grooming their overall personality. They were also getting tips for styling, make-up and fitness from different mentors. With the finale inching closer, they had stepped up their practice and focused on their walks, getting their make-up done or doing portfolio shoots.

SEQUENCES

There are altogether 10 sequences where 67 participants are to walk the ramp. Apart from this, a special sequence will also be showcased and former HoF models will walk the ramp. For all 11 sequences, different designers have prepared different sets under various themes. 

The sequences include ‘Ready to wear’ by Manita Thapa, ‘Freedom is all you need’ by Anugraha Adhikari, ‘Belle Femme’ and ‘Abstrait et floral’ by Kailash Kunwar, ‘Rise for all’ by Deepa KC, ‘Ready to Wear’ by Yishion (clothing brand), ‘Red Carpet’ by Utkrista Bir Bikram Shahi, a sequence by Pooja Bagaria and Miseek Limbu and two sequences have been put together by the Being Human Clothing Store.

All the sequences have been choreographed by judge and trainer Puran Joshi.


HAIR AND MAKEUP

For the participants to look their best on the D-day, a team of Veda Salon is managing everything for their hair and make-up. The participants have been divided into four groups and are to be groomed in accordance to their costumes and themes.


TITLES

Three of the female and male contestants will be crowned the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up. Those who will be crowned with the main title would receive a year-long contract to work as the ambassadors for the house of fashion, a cash prize of NRs 50,000 and gift vouchers from the sponsors. 

Apart from the main title, the participants are also competing for other 12 sub-titles. A male and a female contestant would be crowned in various categories like Most Talented, Most Confident, Most Friendly, Most Intellectual Personality, Most Photogenic, Goodness Ambassador (Team Title), Best Walk, Most Stylish, Most Energetic, Best Hair and Skin  Most Popular (based on Facebook likes) and Public Choice (based on SMS votes). The winners would also receive a sash and goodies from sponsors.

Since the audition round, a panel of six judges including Lomash Dhamala, Manis Rai, Rubina Thapa, Priyanka Ranijoshi, Puran Joshi and Oshima Banu, had taken the responsibility of choosing the best among the contestants based on various parameters.


STAGE, SOUNDS AND LIGHTS

International Sound Service (ISS) is managing the stage, sounds and lights for the grand day. The stage for the day has been built in T-shape and to accentuate the walk by the participants, lights have been fixed from all sides. The audience would have no problem getting the best possible view of the show and the models.

This year the stage has been coupled with LED screens in the backdrop. Throughout the show, graphics related to the designers’ sets would be played. All the graphics have been prepared after months of work by the House of Fashion graphics team.


VENUE

Annapurna Pavilion, where the show is being held has the capacity to seat 1,000 people. Invitations have already been sent for the show. The show is to be attended by personalities from modeling and fashion industries, those from media and families of the participants. 

Tickets worth Rs 2,000 are also available for the general audience which comes with complimentary drinks. After the end of the grand finale, HoF is also organizing an after party at Club Déjà Vu, Durbarmarg. One can attend the after party with the same invitation and tickets for the show.

The stage is all set while the participants are enthusiastic to dazzle the show. If you do not want to miss one of the grandest events in the city, make your presence at Hotel Annapurna on the day. You can also tune in to Kasthmandap Television as well as Facebook at 6 pm sharp for a live show to know who the next face of House of Fashion will be.
