COLOMBO, Nov 12:  Sri Lanka has earned over 2.5 billion U.S. dollars from tourism in the first 10 months of 2024, a significant 59 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of 2023, state media reported on Monday.

COLOMBO, Nov 12:  Sri Lanka has earned over 2.5 billion U.S. dollars from tourism in the first 10 months of 2024, a significant 59 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of 2023, state media reported on Monday.


Sri Lanka earned 185.6 million dollars from tourism in October 2024, compared to 136.7 million dollars in October 2023, Daily News reported.

Sri Lanka has seen over 1.6 million tourist arrivals in the first 10 months of 2024, seeing a 44 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of 2023, according to the state media.


Tourism is a key foreign revenue generator for Sri Lanka, which expects to attract 2.3 million tourists this year and 3 million in 2025.
