Rai was a professional football player of Three Star Club before he left for the UK. The 16-member Sahara UK team will also see Gopal Thapa as their new player.
Sahara Club, Pokhara, and Sahara UK will be different teams this year. Earlier, the hosts Sahara, Pokhara, had claimed that the two teams could probably come as a single team in the tournament slated to be held from January 26.
HISSAN Sports Week continues
BIRATNAGAR, Dec 21: Birat College, Orchid, Bhanu and Siddhartha advanced into the second round of the Inter-college T20 Cricket Tournament of the ongoing HISSAN Sports Week organized by the Higher Secondary Schools´ Association of Nepal, Morang, on Monday.
In the first match, Birat Campus registered a nine-wicket victory over DAV College. Batting first, DAV were bundled out for 96 runs in 15.4 overs. In reply, Birat achieved the target in 8.4 overs losing one wicket.
In another match, Orchid hammered National Academy by 63 runs. Electing to bat first, Orchid added 150 runs losing eight wickets and restricted National to 87 runs in 16 overs.
Likewise, Bhanu had a 26-run win over Devkota College. Opting to bat first, Bhanu mustered 96 runs losing all wickets in 19.2 overs. Following the run chase, Devkota were restricted to 70 runs in 13.4 overs.
In another match, Siddhartha had a three-wicket victory over Manakamana Academy.
