KATHMANDU, Oct 7: As the festive season approaches, the District Police Office Chitwan has implemented a special security plan in the district. Under this plan, the police are working to control criminal activities, especially in long distance vehicles.

As per the implementation of the plan, 69 units are conducting emergency checks as per requirement, tightening of picket area, additional and mobilization of quick response team (QRT), plain-clothes police mobilization in areas where criminal incidents take place. According to Thapa, the striking team and the existing team are also on standby to clear the road if there is any obstruction.

A total of 737 police personnel in the district have been mobilized. “A special team has been mobilized round the clock at 30 places in the district keeping in view the various incidents that may take place during the festival,” Thapa said.

Similarly, market monitoring is being carried out in collaboration with the local administration to reduce the potential risk of unnatural price rise and sale and distribution of non-food items during the festival.
