KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Tuesday announced a special package to the spectators for the Qatar Airways Martyr’s Memorial A-Division League.

The league, which started from December 14, has attracted a relatively fewer number of spectators by the end of the second round, played at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu and the ANFA Complex in Lalitpur.

The third round of the league starts from Wednesday as Machhindra Club takes on Friends Club in the first match, with Chyasal Youth Club taking on New Road Team (NRT) later on the day. ANFA has set the ticket price for the normal parapet at Rs 200, while the VIP parapet will cost Rs 500. "The A-Division League has returned to the Dasharath Stadium only this season after the devastating 2012 earthquakes. So, the ANFA has announced a special package for spectators from the third round matches onwards," league director Sanjeev Mishra said. "This package will continue till the 13th round of matches. We have collected Rs 200,000 from the first round of matches and Rs 300,000 from the second round."

According to the ANFA, there are two types of rewards after a lucky draw. "The first round of rewards will be distributed after the first round of matches, while we will announce the next round of rewards after the league concludes," Mishra said.

The ANFA will reward 20 spectators who buy a ticket of Rs 200 after the conclusion of the first round, while the second round will reward 20 and 5 persons who buy Rs 500 and Rs 200 tickets. The football governing body of the country will reward a total of 275 spectators at the end of the 13th round.

Likewise, after the end of the league campaign, one spectator each who buys tickets for Rs 200 and Rs 500 will get a chance to travel to a foreign country with the Nepal national football team, announced the ANFA. Also, 10 spectators who buy tickets for Rs 200 along with 15 who buy Rs 500 tickets will get to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match between Nepal and Australia from the VIP parapet.

Similarly, 10 and 15 spectators each who buy Rs 200 and Rs 500 tickets will also get to watch the qualifying match between Nepal and Chinese Taipei.

A total of 50 spectators each who buy those tickets will get rewarded. Also, students will be given 50% discount on the ticket price, the ANFA announced.

“We have set a provision of e-ticketing for the first time in Nepal through the league,” Mishra added. “We could not do the promotion of the league properly because of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG). The ANFA cannot bring the audience to the ground on its own. We have provided the clubs with the facilities and resources, hence, it is important that they increase the number of followers and bring people to watch the match.”
