KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota has accused the CPN-UML of trying to adversely affect the decision of cases that are pending at the court.

Stating that the constitution does not allow for the cases pending at the court to be raised in the house sessions, Speaker Sapkota said that the UML is not allowed to continue with its actions. At the HoR meeting held today, CPN-UML lawmakers created obstructions accusing the speaker of involvement in splitting the party and not taking action against 14 lawmakers including CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal.

“I urge the opposition to follow the rules of the house and raise their concerns accordingly. I request the honorable members to take their seats to conduct the meeting in an orderly manner and to provide necessary assistance in conducting the meeting in accordance with the constitution of Nepal,” Sapkota said.

Speaker Sapkota said that there was no alternative but to resume the house sessions to move forward important bills including the Citizenship Bill and the Federal Civil Servants Bill.
