KATHMANDU, March 11: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire reached Bahrain on Saturday to participate in the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) which is going to be held on 11-15 March 2023.

Speaker Ghimire along with nine members of the Nepali delegation was welcomed by Bahraini MPs, Courtesy Officers and Nepali Ambassador to Bahrain Tirtharaj Wagle and Nepali Embassy officials as well as representatives of Nepali organizations in Bahrain in a special lounge at Bahrain International Airport.

The 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Legislative Association is being held at the Exhibition World Bahrain Convention Center in Bahrain. Bahraini King Hamad bin Isha Al Khalifa will address the opening session of the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Legislative Association. The title of the discussion of this 146th General Assembly is "Promoting peaceful coexistence and inclusive societies: Fighting intolerance".

On the occasion of the visit, the Speaker Ghimire will address the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Legislative Association. In addition, there is a program where he will meet with the Speaker of the Assembly of the host country Bahrain and the leaders of parliamentary delegations from various countries.

Similarly, in the planning and coordination of the embassy, the heads and representatives of the Nepali organizations in Bahrain will meet and interact with the Nepali parliamentary delegation on March 13.
