KATHMANDU, July 25: Medal winners of the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship played at home last Saturday, are set to be felicitated on Wednesday.
President of the Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, Rajesh Babu Shrestha, will felicitate the medal winners personally. The association, releasing a statement, said that the players will be felicitated with cash prizes.
The gold medal winners will get Rs 50,000, while the silver medal winners will be given Rs 30,000. Also, the bronze medal winners will receive Rs 20,000.

Meanwhile, the association said three winners of the 12th South Asian Body Building Championship will represent Nepal in the Asia-Pacific championship. The association has decided to send three players and an official to participate in the championship.
Similarly, nine players from Nepal will compete in the 53rd Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship-2019 taking place in Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia of China. The championship will take place from September 12 through 18.
Nepal won a total of 16 medals—three golds, seven silvers and six bronzes—in the tournament featuring 23 players. Nepal even left India behind on aggregate. However, Afghanistan finished as the team champion.
The association has announced that the three gold medal winners will get to participate in the Asia Pacific Bodybuilding Championship to be held from August 16 through 18.
In the championship, Samir Shrestha won the gold in senior men’s 65 kg bodybuilding category, while Naresh Munikar claimed the gold in over 167 cm men’s athletics physique category. Also, Malika Shakya bagged the gold in women’s model physique category.
