In case you needed any more proof that life is unfair, a dog managed to get his paws on an iPhone 7 before you. In fact, she got eight of them, as a gift from her wealthy owner, the son of China’s richest man.
Photos doing the rounds on Chinese social media show Coco, a gorgeous Alaskan Malamute, posing with a stack of brand new iPhone 7s that her master, 28-year-old Wang Sicong bought just for her. You’d think she’d be happier about getting such an expensive gift on the day Apple’s iPhone 7 went on sale, but Coco doesn’t seem to impressed. Too bad she can’t read all the comments from users complaining that their lives are so much worse than hers. Maybe then she could appreciate these “little” gestures more.

Wang Sicong, also known as “the nation’s husband”, for his status of China’s most eligible bachelor, is part of China’s fu’erdai or second-generation rich, youth who love nothing more than to flaunt their decadent lifestyles online. His father, Wang Jianlin, runs China’s largest real-estate development company, and is worth a reported $30 billion. He’s currently the richest man in the Asian country and the 20th richest man in the world.
This isn’t the first time the young heir made headlines for showering his pet dog with extravagant gifts. Last year, he came under fire for snapping photos of Coco wearing two Apple Watches – one on each of her front legs – with luxury bands worth over $37,000.
The iPhone 7 currently sells for 7,988 yuan ($1,197), so Coco’s eight handhelds could be worth as much as $9,584, although it’s not clear what model her owner went for, from the photos.
