SURKHET, August 11:  A soldier of the Nepali Army who was working on the Karnali Corridor road construction has died.

Soldier Tikaram Lamichhane died after falling from a cliff while checking the machine prepared for detonating explosives for road construction.

Hari Bahadur Bista, another soldier who had gone with him, is injured. According to District Police Office Humla, Lamichhane died around 6 AM,Thursday after he fell off a cliff while checking the machine prepared for detonation in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1, Simkhada. Bista, who was injured after falling from the cliff, was rescued by a helicopter and brought to Nepalgunj Medical College. The Nepali Army has taken over the construction of the rocky section under the Karnali Corridor.
