Socket bombs found in paddy field in Parasi

PARASI, July 5: Five socket bombs hidden in a paddy field in Ramawapur, Sunawal of Nawalparasi district have been recovered.



Locals had informed the police after they found them hidden in a hay stack in the field of Ganga Sunwar of Ramawapur, Sunawal-4 while ploughing field. Materials including 35 bullet cases and detonators were also found with the bombs in a plastic sack, said Area Police Office Sunawal, Police Inspector Netramani Giri. [break]



A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army No. 22 Brigade defused the bombs at Alakatre Danda forests of Sunawal today, said team chief Captain Matrika Kunwar.



District Police Chief SP Pushpa Chandrit said investigation was underway although it was said it could not be that of conflict era as it was found in paddy field where rice was planted every year.
