KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Soaltee Westend Premier Nepalgunj has bagged an award for ‘Environment Friendly and Sustainable Development’.
The hotel was presented with the award in an event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on the occasion of the 41st World Tourism Day on Sunday. Issuing a statement, the company said that Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu has taken another step by setting up Nepal’s most state-of-the art eco-friendly hotel. “From the design stage to the eco-friendly energy saving practices followed which reduces pollution and sets a very high standard for energy-saving and eco friendly criteria,” read the statement.

Soaltee Westend Premier Nepalgunj is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Category hotel in Nepal, certified by the US Green Building Council. According to the hotel, it manages its electricity, temperature, water and waste that are ecological with additional measures like insulation, temperature calibration, elevators with regen-technology. “Equipped with infrastructure that is luxurious and eco-friendly, believing in going green the hotel has several plants installed which helps in reducing its carbon footprint,” the statement added.
