HUMLA, March 7: Heaving snowfall is taking place since Friday evening in Humla.
As a result, the temperature has plummeted to reach -5 degrees centigrade.
The snowfall is quite heavy in the northern part of the district, according to the District Police Office.
Though Friday morning had begun with a burst of sunshine, the climate changed all of a sudden in the daytime leading to snowfall. As a result, Kharpunath, Simkot and Namkha rural municipalities of the district have been blanketed by heavy snow. This has made daily life difficult.
However, the snowfall is expected to provide some relief to the farmers.
Cereals like wheat and barley production are expected to rise, according to the chief of the agriculture unit of Simkot rural municipality Netra Bahadur Shahi.
