TAPLEJUNG, Jan 13: Snowfall has occurred in Taplejung for the second time. People's lives have been affected due to the snowfall and cold.

Phaktanlung Rural Municipality-6 Ghunsagaun located at an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level and other areas of the district witnessed snowfall on Wednesday.

There was heavy snowfall last night. According to Kelsang Sherpa of Ghunsa, it has become difficult even to get out due to the cold. Children and senior citizens are more affected by the cold. According to Tashi Tenzi Sherpa of Ghunsa, it has become difficult to save the livestock due to the heavy snowfall.

According to Tenzi Sherpa, a local, a heavy snowfall has occurred at Phaktanlung Rural Municipality -7 Olangchung Gola at an altitude of 3,200 meters above sea level and Yangma settlement at an altitude of 4,200 meters.

According to Dandu Sherpa, Ward Chairman of Mikwakhola-6, there was snowfall in Gyapla and Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-6, Tokpegola and Papung. The famous Pathibhara temple area at an altitude of 3,794 meters above sea level has also witnessed snowfall. The last snowfall was recorded in the district on January 28 and 29 last year.
