KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Six people were seriously injured when a jackal bit them at Laxminiya VDC of Mahottari last night. 

Of the victims, five are minors. Isaq Churait, 50, Likhit Khatun, 5, Soyab Shesh , 10, Ladli Khatun, 10, Ram Binay Mahato, 3 and Sudip Kumar Mahato, 15 have been injured in the rampage jackal attack. A jackal which came from the nearby sugarcane farm bit them last night, the Area Police Office Gaushala said. 

Though they were taken to the Gaushala-based primary health center for treatment, were denied treatment due to shortage of anti-rabies vaccine in the center. Now they are undergoing treatment in local private health clinics, Police Inspector Shambhu Kharel said. We are searching for a jackal that attacked the Laxminiya folks, he added. RSS
