Six new players picked for Nepal’s National Women Football Team

KATHMANDU, August 25: Nepali national women's football team has been announced for the AFC Women's Asian Cup-2022 qualifiers to be held in Uzbekistan.

Out of 28 players who played in the closed training session, Head coach Gary Phillips announced the 23-member squad on Tuesday.  Amisha Karki, Anjali Waiba, Hima Chaudhary, Manisha Raut and Sharmila Thapa have been dropped from the announced squad.


According to Nepal Football Association (ANFA), six new players have made it to the team. Midfielder Preeti Rai, forward players Rashmi Ghising, Savita Rana, Rajni Thokar, defenders Srijana Singh and Nisha Thokar will be playing in the national team for the first time.
