SANKHUWASABHA, September 6: Six members of the same family were hacked to death by an unknown group last night in Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha. 

According to DSP Laldhwaj Subedi,Chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the unidentified assailants killed the family members of Tej Bahadur Karki using a sharp weapon.

The police were informed about the incident Monday morning after a neighbour found the dead bodies of Karki’s family members. The six deceased have been identified as 58-year-old Tej Bahadur Karki, his 80-year-old mother Parbata Karki, his 56-year-old wife Manmaya Karki, 28-year-old daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 10-year-old grandson Deepak Karki, and granddaughter Goma Karki aged five, according to a local teacher Yogendra Ojha. 

Further details regarding the incident are yet to be released. According to DSP Subedi, an investigation team has already been sent to the incident site.
