KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Police have arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in producing fake smart driving license and identity cards of various government offices.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Metropolitan Crime Division, Teku, and Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, Ramshah Path, carried out raids and arrested them from Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Driving license for a hundred thousand rupees, that too fake!
Those arrested are Deepak Balon, 27, and Buddhi Bahadur Rokka, 48, from Sarlahi; Ananta Gurung, 36, and Kumar Tandukar, 56, from Kathmandu; Ashok Karki, 31, from Bara; and Mohan Yadav, 41, from Siraha.
Police confiscated four fake driving licenses, citizenship certificates, Aadhar Card of India from Buddhi Bahadur Rokka, who is the promoter of Ashish Studio in Kathmandu. Likewise, police also confiscated fake ID cards, printer, cutting machine, hard drive, among other things from Photo Concern at New Road.
The arrested have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu for further investigation under forge document offence, according to Metropolitan Crime Division.
