Six children die in delayed drowning

BHAKTAPUR, Sept 20: As many as six children died in incidents of delayed drowning on Monday evening. 

Jagat Tamang's two year and four months old son, Anil, of Mangaltaar of Kavrepalanchowk and currently living at Nagpokhari in Bhaktapur Municipality – 4 submerged in a nearby pond and died in course of treatment at the Siddhi Memorial Hospital, said Inspector Prakash Bista, of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Bhaktapur. 

In another incident, Ekadashi Pyatha's five – year – old son, Aryan, drowned in an underground water tank built inside an under construction house of Rajan Chitrakar at Kamalbinayak of Bhaktapur Municipality – 3. Aryan died on his way to Madhyapur Hospital for treatment, according to police. 

Meanwhile, three children drowned in the Godavari river located at Attariya Municipality in Kailali districts. They have been identified as Shanker Bahadur Karki's 15- year - old son, Bishal, Padam BK's 10 – year - old son, Nirajan, and Lal Bahadur BK's 12 – year - old son, Umesh, of Attariya Municipality – 13, according to Area Police Office, Malakheti. 

The children had gone to the Godavari river located west of Attariya Bazaar to take bath. They were rescued by a team of Armed Police Force (APF) from a deeper section at the side of the river and taken to Padma Hospital, said police officer, Mohan Bohara. 

The children were later rushed to Seti Zonal Hospital for further treatment where they were declared dead. RSS
