GAIGHAT, July 18: The Siddhicharan highway linking Katari of Udayapur to Okhaldhunga remains obstructed due to a landslide at Tanthi in ward no. 8 of Katari municipality. As a result, travelers have been affected since the past one week.
The existing road structure at the site has collapsed and there is a need to carve out a new track, thereby requiring some time, said Area Police Office, Katari Chief Prem Sagar KC. The Road Division Office in Lahan, Siraha is currently working to develop an alternative way at the affected site.
As a result, public transportation from Katari to Betini Ghurmi, as well as to Okhaldhunga and Khotang has been affected. The Road Division has mobilized very few human personnel and hence is taking more time that required, said transport entrepreneur Jeevan Magar from Katari.
