ITAHARI, Dec 3: Sunsari District Court has remanded Krishna Das Giri known as ‘Siddhababa’ in judicial custody for four days for investigation on the charge of raping a female follower.
A single bench of judge Dharma Raj Paudel remanded Giri in judicial custody. A team of police led by DSP Binod Sharma arrested Giri from Biratnagar-based Birat Nursing Home and presented him at the court on Monday. The district court had on Friday issued an arrest warrant against Giri.
Giri has been accused of raping his follower at his Ashram in Chatara, Sunsari last month. According to DSP Binod Sharma of District Police Office, Sunsari, Giri has been admitted again to Birat Nursing Home for treatment after the court’s hearing.

A case was filed against Giri on Wednesday.
After learning that the court had issued an arrest warrant against him, Giri was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Birat Nursing Home on Sunday. A team of police that had reached the hospital on Sunday to arrest Siddhababa had returned empty-handed after seeing that he was being treated at the ICU.
But on Monday, police arrested Giri from the ICU after learning that he has been meeting his followers there. The police took him to the court in an ambulance.
According to the hospital, Giri has problems in his chest and heart. According to the complaint filed by his alleged victim at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, she was raped in the Ashram in Chatara, Sunsari on October 21. Then the Central Investigation Bureau asked the District Police Office, Sunsari, to look into the complaint.
