KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s Oli-led faction is organizing a mass gathering in Butwal on Saturday.
The Oli-led faction has been organizing the gathering as the regional showdown of its faction after it organized a similar gathering in Kathmandu Valley last week. The faction has claimed that as many as 200,000 people are expected to gather in Rupandehi’s Butwal. Half of the participants will be from Rupandehi district, while another 100,000 people will join the gathering from other districts of Lumbini Province.
“Journalists from the federal capital Kathmandu are invited in Butwal on February 13 to see what a mass gathering of a single province looks like,” a key leader of the faction and Province 5 Chief Minister, Shankar Pokharel posted on the social media on Wednesday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will be the key speaker of the mass gathering scheduled to be held at Siddheshwar Secondary School.
