Sherpa retains basketball presidency

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Lama Tendi Sherpa has been elected to lead Nepal Basketball Association (NBA) for the third time in a row on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Lama Tendi Sherpa has been elected to lead Nepal Basketball Association (NBA) for the third time in a row on Friday.



The electoral general assembly of the NBA elected an 11-member committee under Shepra, who is also the vice president of the National Sports Council and general secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC).



Hom Bahadur Dong was elected the senior vice president of the basketball governing body of the country while Som Bahadur Rai was elected vice president.



Narendra Thapa, the vice president of the previous committee, was elected general secretary and Fanindra Man Shrestah was elected secretary.



Bishnu Hari Tripathi was given the responsibility of treasurer.



Similarly, Pawan Kumar Thapa, Raj Kumar Maharjan, Niranjan Satyal, Basata Raj Giri and Saroja Koirala were elected the members.



Meanwhile, the executive committee meeting of the NBA also nominated Bhim Singh Gurung, Jum Gurung and Sural Lama as vice presidents.
