KATHMANDU, Sept 9:  Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee (CWC) member Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who has been serving as the party's spokesperson, has announced his candidacy for the post of the party's General Secretary in the upcoming 14th General Convention of the party.

Sharma announced his candidacy during a function organized by BP Museum in Sundarijal to mark the 108th birth anniversary of the NC’s founding leader late BP Koirala on Thursday. Sharma announced to make the NC the largest party in the country under the leadership of youth leaders.  

The NC is organizing its 14th General Convention from November 25 to 29 in Kathmandu. NC youth leader Gagan Thapa has already announced his candidacy for the same post, while another youth leader Pradip Poudel has also announced that he is also a contender for the post.
