Shankharapur bus accident: 27 injured people discharged from hospital

Twenty-seven of the injured in the accident involving a bus (Ba 2 Kha 7958) of SS Academy in Chabahil on Wednesday afternoon have been discharged from the hospital.

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: A bus carrying students met with an accident on Sankhu-Nagarkot road section of Shankharapur Municipality-5 in Kathmandu, resulting in the death of three people. Twenty-seven of the injured in the accident involving a bus (Ba 2 Kha 7958) of SS Academy in Chabahil on Wednesday afternoon have been discharged from the hospital.


According to the Kathmandu Police Range, 27 people who were injured in the accident have returned home after receiving treatment.

A girl studying at SS Academy is in critical condition and currently undergoing treatment at Medicity Hospital. The other 15 injured are receiving treatment at People's Life Care Hospital, Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital.


The bus carrying school management, teachers and students, was returning from a picnic in Nagarkot when the accident occurred. According to preliminary investigation, the bus met with the accident due to brake failure. The bus was driven by 39-year-old Manish Majhi, a resident of Sindhupalchowk.
